Maintaining a VM

Maintaining a VM

After the system allocates resources to a created VM, you can start the VM. The routine VM maintenance operations are as follows:
  • Activating a VM: After a VM is activated, the system allocates resources to the VM, but the VM is not started. You need to start the VM.
  • Starting a VM: Before starting a VM, ensure that the VM is allocated resources and activated. VM services run properly only after the VM is started.
  • Stopping a VM: After a VM is stopped, resources occupied by the VM are not released.
  • Deactivating a VM: Before deactivating a VM, ensure that the VM has been stopped. After a VM is deactivated, resources occupied by the VM are released.
  • Deleting a VM: Before deleting a VM, ensure that the VM has been stopped. After a VM is deleted, all services on the VM are interrupted and cannot be restored.
