Configuring an Interval at Which LSAs Are Retransmitted

Configuring an Interval at Which LSAs Are Retransmitted

After a switch sends an LSA to its neighboring switch, the switch waits for a response within an interval. If no response is received within the interval, the switch retransmits the LSA to the neighboring switch.

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

The OSPF interface view is displayed.

  3. Run ospf timer retransmit interval

An interval at which LSAs are retransmitted between adjacent switches is set.

By default, the interval is 5 seconds.

Generally, the interval at which LSAs are retransmitted between adjacent switches must be larger than the round trip time of a packet transmitted between two switches. Otherwise, some LSAs are retransmitted unnecessarily.
