This document describes the configuration and maintenance of device through the web network management system. The web network management system provides the functions of viewing device information and managing the entire system, interfaces, services, ACL, QoS, routes, security, and tools.

QoS Configuration

This section describes QoS configurations.

Port Priority

Context

The switch performs priority mapping based on the priority of packets or priority of an interface. Then the switch determines the queues and output priorities of the received packets based on packet priorities or the priority of the interface. By doing this, the switch provides differentiated services.

Procedure

  1. Choose Configuration > Security Services > QoS Configuration and click the Port Priority tab, as shown in Figure 5-106.

  2. Select a port to be configured. Perform the following operations as required in the port area:

    • Click a port icon. To deselect the port, click the port icon again.
    • Drag the cursor to select consecutive ports in a batch.
    • Click multiple port icons to select these ports, and click a port icon again to deselect the port.
    • Select a slot where a panel is located. All ports on the panel are selected.

  3. Select the interface priority from the Default port priority drop-down list box.
  4. Select the trusted priority from the Trusted port priority drop-down list box. Then the switch maps packets based on the priority.

    • 8021p: The switch maps packets based on the 802.1p priority.
    • dscp: The switch maps packets based on the DSCP priority.
    • untrust: The switch does not trust any packet priorities.

  5. Click Apply.

Congestion Management

Context

When congestion occurs on a network, the switch configured with congestion management determines the sequence at which packets are forwarded based on the defined scheduling policy and ensures that high-priority packets are scheduled preferentially.

Procedure

  1. Choose Configuration > Security Services > QoS Configuration and click the Congestion Management tab, as shown in Figure 5-107.

  2. Select a port to be configured. Perform the following operations as required in the port area:

    • Click a port icon. To deselect the port, click the port icon again.
    • Drag the cursor to select consecutive ports in a batch.
    • Click multiple port icons to select these ports, and click a port icon again to deselect the port.
    • Select a slot where a panel is located. All ports on the panel are selected.

  3. Configure a queue scheduling mode on an interface in Scheduling method.
    1. Select Create Template from the drop-down list box, as shown in Figure 5-108.

    2. Enter the name of the scheduling template in Create a Scheduling Template.
    3. Select a scheduling mode of an interface queue.

      • pps: indicates WRR scheduling.
      • bps: indicates WDRR scheduling.

    4. Set the weight of each queue.

      NOTE:

      If the weight of a queue is set to 0, the queue uses PQ scheduling. In this case, PQ+WRR or PQ+WDRR is used.

  4. Click Apply.

Rate Limiting And Shaping

Context

Interface-based rate limiting limits the rate of all packets passing through the interface to ensure that the bandwidth is within the allowed range. Packets received on an interface enter different queues based on priority mapping. The switch provides differentiated services by setting different traffic shaping parameters for queues with different priorities.

Procedure

  1. Choose Configuration > Security Services > QoS Configuration and click the Rate Limiting And Shaping tab, as shown in Figure 5-109.

  2. Select a port to be configured. Perform the following operations as required in the port area:

    • Click a port icon. To deselect the port, click the port icon again.
    • Drag the cursor to select consecutive ports in a batch.
    • Click multiple port icons to select these ports, and click a port icon again to deselect the port.
    • Select a slot where a panel is located. All ports on the panel are selected.

  3. Set Inbound rate limit(Kbps) and Outbound rate limit(Kbps).
  4. Set the traffic shaping value corresponding to the queue index ID in Outbound queue shaping.
  5. Click Apply.

Priority Mapping

Context

After priority mapping is configured, the switch determines the queues that received packets enter and output priorities of the received packets based on packet priorities or the default priority of the interface. By doing this, the switch provides differentiated services.

Procedure

  • Check the mapping between 802.1p priorities and queues.

    NOTE:

    The mapping between 802.1p priorities and queues is fixed and cannot be configured.

    1. Choose Configuration > Security Services > QoS Configuration and click the Priority Mapping tab.
    2. Select 8021p->queue to check the mapping between 802.1p priorities and queues, as shown in Figure 5-110.

  • Configure the mapping between DSCP priorities and queues.
    1. Choose Configuration > Security Services > QoS Configuration and click the Priority Mapping tab.
    2. Select dscp->queue, as shown in Figure 5-111.

    3. Select values in the queue column.
    4. Click Apply.
