Configuring a Traffic Policy

Configuring a Traffic Policy

Context

After a traffic policy is configured, the S12700 classifies packets based on the DSCP value, protocol type, IP address, port number, fragmented packet type, and time segment and redirects the packets which have been selected for analysis to the Eth-Trunk.

Perform the following steps on the S12700 when a traffic policy needs to be configured and apply the traffic policy to the interface connected to an optical splitter.

Procedure

  1. Configure a traffic classifier. For details, see "Configuring a Traffic Classifier" in "MQC Configuration" in the S12700 V200R011C10 Configuration Guide - QoS.
  2. Configure redirection.
    1. Run system-view

      The system view is displayed.

    2. Run traffic behavior behavior-name

A traffic behavior is created and the traffic behavior view is displayed.

    3. Run redirect multi-trunk { eth-trunk trunk-id } &<1-4>

The packets matching the traffic classifier are redirected to specified Eth-Trunks.

    4. Run quit

      Return to the system view.

  3. Configure a traffic policy. For details, see Configuring a Traffic Classifier in "MQC Configuration" in the S12700 V200R011C10 Configuration Guide - QoS.
  4. Apply the traffic policy to the inbound interface where traffic distribution is configured.
    1. Run system-view

      The system view is displayed.

    2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

      The interface view is displayed.

    3. Run traffic-policy policy-name inbound

The traffic policy is applied to the inbound interface where traffic distribution is configured.
