Feature Limitations

  • After NETCONF is enabled, some functions must be configured on the NMS using NETCONF, but cannot be configured using command on the switch. If you configure these functions using command on the switch, the following message is displayed:
Error: This command cannot be executed in netconf status.
  • After NETCONF is enabled, some functions can be configured using NETCONF on the NMS and using command on the switch. When you configure them using command on the switch, the following message is displayed. Continue the configuration after confirming that no conflict will occur.
Warning: This command may cause confliction in netconf status. Continue? [Y/N]:
  • After NETCONF is enabled, some functions can be configured using NETCONF or SNMP on the NMS. Before configuring these functions, ensure that no conflict will occur.

  • After NETCONF is enabled, do not modify configuration files (including the new configuration file specified in the Bootload menu during switch restart) on switches or the configurations delivered by the NMS to switches. Otherwise, data in the NETCONF database and configuration files may be inconsistent and configurations may be lost.
  • If an error occurs in the NETCONF process of the switch, detailed error information of the process will be saved in the directory flash:/core_dump.

  • When the delete-config operation is performed on the NMS to clear configurations in the NETCONF database, the switch automatically runs the reset saved-configuration command to clear the next startup configuration file and cancel the configuration file used for next startup.
