Restricting the user access attempts can prevent attackers from using the brute-force method to guess the passwords of authorized users. If the number of consecutive authentication failures of a PPPoE user exceeds the specified limit within the specified period, the device rejects the user until the blocking period expires.


  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run ppp connection chasten request-sessions request-period blocking-period

    The chasten function is configured.

    By default, the chasten function is enabled.
