Functions Overview

HUAWEI-E-TRUNK-MIB defined by Huawei describes the following functions: the Multi-Chassis Trunk (E-Trunk) implements the master/backup function and supports VPLS networks; the E-Trunk feature enhances the reliability of the PE's access to the network through PE backup.

Relationships Between Tables

Figure 47-1  Relationship between hwETrunkMemberTable and hwETrunkTable

The relationship between hwETrunkTable (the E-Trunk table) and hwETrunkMemberTable (the E-Trunk member table and only Eth-Trunk available) is shown in the figure above. The hwETrunkMemberParentID field in the E-Trunk member structure is the ID of the E-Trunk to which E-Trunk members belong.

Creation Restriction

Before this table is created, hwETrunkID must be specified.

When hwETrunkBfdSessId is configured, the corresponding BFD session is already set up and the BFD session can detect the link between hwETrunkSourceIpAddr and hwETrunkPeerIpAddr.

The BFD session with a specified name must be created before hwETrunkBfdSessName is set. hwETrunkBfdSessName is supported only by static BFD for IPv4.

Modification Restriction

The hwETrunkSecurityKey [18] is a 16-digit hexadecimal number and must be consistent on the two devices. Otherwise, packets are discarded. You can configure hwETrunkSecurityKey [18] in the plain or cipher text. When the encryption type is the cipher text, a 24-byte cipher character string is displayed in query.

If you need to change the hwETrunkPeerIpAddr and hwETrunkSourceIpAddr, you must change them on the devices on two ends of the E-Trunk. Otherwise, packets are discarded.

Deletion Restriction

Before this table is deleted, hwETrunkID must be specified.

If the E-Trunk has one or more members, you must delete its members before deleting the E-Trunk.

Access Restriction

When you read this table, the E-Trunk must exist.

hwETrunkMemberTable

This table describes information about E-Trunk members.

The indexes of this table are hwETrunkMemberType, hwETrunkMemberId, and hwETrunkMemberParentId.

Read-only

The value of this object identifies the causes why the local E-Trunk member is in this state:
  • 1: The local E-Trunk member works in forcible backup state.

  • 2: The local E-Trunk member works in forcible master state.

  • 3: The local E-Trunk member works in automatic state and the E-Trunk is in the initialization state.

  • 4: The local E-Trunk member works in automatic state and the E-Trunk works in the forcible backup mode.

  • 5: The local E-Trunk member works in automatic state and the E-Trunk works in the forcible master mode.

  • 6: The local E-Trunk member works in automatic state, the E-Trunk is in the forcible backup state and then changes to the forcible master mode when the E-Trunk receives a message that the peer device is faulty (the index of the peer member must be consistent with the index of this member).

  • 7: The local E-Trunk member works in automatic state, the E-Trunk works in the forcible backup mode and then changes to the forcible backup mode because the E-Trunk receives a message that the peer device is faulty (the index of the peer member must be consistent with the index of this member).

This object is implemented as defined in the corresponding MIB files.

hwETrunkMemberRowStatus

RowStatus

Read-create

This object indicates the row status.

This object is implemented as defined in the corresponding MIB files.

Creation Restriction

At present, hwETrunkMemberType supports Eth-Trunk only.

The E-Trunk needs to query Eth-Trunk to check whether the Trunk with the ID of hwETrunkMemberID exists. If the Eth-Trunk does not contain information about this Trunk, LACP is not enabled, or the Trunk has joined another E-Trunk, creating the Trunk fails.

Check whether the E-Trunk of hwETrunkMemberParentID exists. If not, creating the Trunk fails.

Modification Restriction

Only hwETrunkMemberWorkMode can be modified.

Deletion Restriction

None

Access Restriction

When you read the table, the corresponding member must be present. At present, hwETrunkMemberType supports Eth-Trunk only.
