Ethernet Submenu

Ethernet Submenu

Before transferring files using the Ethernet submenu, deploy a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server as the file server and connect the device to the FTP or TFTP server using the management interface.

If no management interface is provided on a device, use the first interface on the device to connect to the FTP or TFTP server. If the first interface on a device is the combo interface, use the electrical mode.

Transferring files using an Ethernet interface is faster than using the serial port, but requires the deployment of an FTP or TFTP server and an additional cable.

In the BootLoad main menu, select 4 to access the Ethernet submenu.

  1. Prepare the BootROM program file to be updated, for example, the bootrom.bin file on the local device.
  2. Select 4. Modify ethernet interface boot parameter from the Ethernet submenu to modify network port parameters.
  3. After network port parameters are modified, select 3. Return to ethernet menu to return to the Ethernet submenu.
  4. Select 1. Update BootROM system to upgrade the BootROM system.

2. Download file to Flash through ethernet interface
