Other network elements are not required.
Licensing Requirements
Energy-saving management configuration commands are available only after the S1720GW, S1720GWR, and S1720X have the license (WEB management to full management Electronic RTU License) loaded and activated and the switches are restarted. Energy-saving management configuration commands on other models are not under license control.
For details about how to apply for a license, see S Series Switch License Use Guide.

Feature Limitations
During device sleeping configuration, if you run the speed { 10 | 100 } command on any awakening port to set the port rate to 10 or 100 Mbit/s or run the loopback internal command on any awakening port to configure the loopback detection mode, the device cannot enter the sleeping state. To enable the device to enter the sleeping state, you need to configure the awakening port on which the speed { 10 | 100 } or loopback internal command has been configured as a non-awakening port or delete the speed { 10 | 100 } or loopback internal command configuration from the awakening port.
When the interval between the sleeping start time and end time is less than 10 minutes, the device will not enter the sleeping state.
