Configuring Active/Standby Switchover

Configuring Active/Standby Switchover

When the master switch in a stack of multiple member switches is faulty, you can manually perform an active/standby switchover. After the active/standby switchover is complete, the master switch joins the stack after restarting, and the standby switch becomes the new master switch.

Before performing an active/standby switchover, run the display switchover state command to check whether the system meets active/standby switchover requirements. During an active/standby switchover, ensure that the standby switch is in real-time backup state.

  1. (Optional) Run display switchover state

The active/standby switchover status is displayed. According to the status, you can determine whether the stack meets switchover requirements.

  2. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  3. Run slave switchover enable

    Active/standby switchover is enabled.

By default, the active/standby switchover function is enabled.

  4. Run slave switchover

    An active/standby switchover is performed.
