S1720, S2700, S5700, and S6720 V200R011C10

This document describes IP Unicast Routing configurations supported by the switch, including the principle and configuration procedures of IP Routing Overview, Static Route, RIP, RIPng, OSPF, OSPFv3, IS-IS(IPv4), IS-IS(IPv6), BGP, Routing Policy ,and PBR, and provides configuration examples.

(Optional) Restricting the Flooding of LSA Packets

(Optional) Restricting the Flooding of LSA Packets

If there are multiple neighboring switches or a large number of LSA packets are flooded, a neighboring switch may be inundated with LSA packets and become overwhelmed processing them. This may cause the neighboring switch to discard Hello packets that are used to maintain the OSPF neighbor relationships, resulting in interruptions to neighbor relationships. After the neighbor relationships are reestablished, more packets are exchanged, which increases the possibility of neighbor relationship interruptions. To resolve this problem, restrict the flooding of LSA packets to maintain neighbor relationships.

Perform the following steps on the switch running OSPF.

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run ospf [ process-id ]

The OSPF process view is displayed.

  3. Run flooding-control [ number transmit-number | timer-interval transmit-interval ] *

The flooding of LSA packets is restricted.

By default, 50 LSA packets can be flooded at an interval of 30s.

After the flooding-control command is run, the flooding of LSA packets is immediately restricted.

If the flooding-control command is not run, flooding of LSA packets is automatically restricted when the number of neighboring switches exceeds 256.
