Configuring Stub Routers

Configuring Stub Routers

Context

Configuring a switch to function as a stub router ensures an uninterrupted route on the switch during upgrades and other maintenance operations. This is because the route cost is set to the maximum value 65535 and the route is no longer preferentially selected.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run ospf [ process-id ]

The OSPF process view is displayed.

  3. Run stub-router [ on-startup [ interval ] ]

A switch is configured as a stub router.

By default, the switch is not configured as a stub router.

If a switch is configured as a stub router, it functions as a stub router for 500s.

    NOTE:

The stub switch configured through this command bears no similarity to a switch in a stub area
