This document describes methods to use command line interface and to log in to the device, file operations, and system startup configurations.

BootLoad Menu

During the switch startup, when the message "Press CTRL+B to enter BootLoad menu :" is displayed, the BootLoad is started, press Ctrl+B within 3 seconds to access the BootLoad menu.

Before accessing the BootLoad menu, you must enter a password, which prevents unauthorized users from accessing the BootLoad menu and ensures switch security. The default BootLoad password is To change the BootLoad password, see Modifying the BootLoad Password.

If you enter incorrect passwords three consecutive times, the switch restarts. You are advised to set a new BootLoad password when accessing the BootLoad menu for the first time.

If you press Ctrl+T when the device displays "Press CTRL+T to Start Memory Test" or "Press CTRL+T for full memory test" during the device startup process, the device will perform a memory check.

After you enter the correct BootLoad password, the following BootLoad menu is displayed:

1. Boot with default mode

Starts the switch based on information set in 3. Modify Flash description area, without passing through the uBoot stage.

2. Enter ethernet submenu

Displays the Ethernet port submenu. In this submenu, you can download files including the configuration file to the switch flash memory using the Ethernet port.

This operation features fast file transfer, but you must preconfigure a file server and set network parameters to ensure that the route between the switch and the file server is reachable.

3. Modify Flash description area

Displays the flash description submenu. In this submenu, you can view and change the startup configuration. When upgrading the system software using the BootLoad menu, you can access this submenu to set the system software, configuration file, and patch file.

4. File system submenu

Displays the file system submenu. In this submenu, you can manage and maintain the file system.

5. Enter password submenu

Enters the password submenu. In this submenu, you can change the BootLoad password or restore the default BootLoad password.

6. Clear password for console user

Allows you to delete the password for login using the console port. In this submenu, you can delete the password for logging in to the switch using the console port when you forget the password. After the password is deleted, you can log in to the switch using the console port without authentication.

7. Reboot

Restarts the switch using the system software and configuration file set in 3. Modify Flash description area. The switch startup goes through the BIOS and BootLoad stages.

If the modified parameters affect the initialization before the BootLoad menu is displayed, access this submenu to restart the BootLoad and then start other components.

Shortcut key

The BootLoad menu provides two shortcut keys: Ctrl+M and Ctrl+J. The two shortcut keys can be used in any BootLoad menu to provide functions similar to Enter.
