This document describes methods to use command line interface and to log in to the device, file operations, and system startup configurations.

File System Submenu

In the BootLoad menu, select 4 to access the file system submenu.

        BootLoad Menu

     1. Boot with default mode
     2. Enter ethernet submenu
     3. Modify Flash description area
     4. File system submenu
     5. Enter password submenu
     6. Clear password for console user
     7. Reboot

Enter your choice(1-7): 4
        Flash Submenu

     1. list flash files
     2. delete flash files
     3. rename flash files
     4. format flash
     5. Return

1. list flash files

Displays all files in the flash memory.

2. delete flash files

Deletes files in the flash memory.


Before you select 2 in the file system submenu, select 1 to view existing files on the switch to obtain names of files to be deleted.

3. rename flash files

Renames files.


Before you select 3 in the file system submenu, select 1 to view existing files on the switch to obtain names of files to be renamed.

4. format flash

Formats the flash memory.

If a bad sector exists on the flash memory or the flash memory fails, format the flash memory to rectify the fault. If the fault persists, contact technical support personnel.


After the flash memory is formatted, the switch cannot start. You need to reload the system software. Therefore, exercise caution before formatting the flash memory.

5. Return

Returns to the BootLoad menu.
