(Optional) Configuring a Switch to Age All VLANs

(Optional) Configuring a Switch to Age All VLANs

On a network with one or more rings, you can enable a switch to age all VLANs or only the local VLANs.

You are advised to enable a switch to age all VLANs when the switch is located at the intersection point of rings.

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run hvrp vlan-age all

The switch is configured to age all VLANs.

By default, only local VLANs are aged.

In HVRP, VLAN 1 is not identified as the local VLAN. When the PVID is not VLAN 1 and the hvrp vlan-age all command is executed, VLAN 1 will be aged.
