Other network elements are not required.

License Requirements

You can use the MPLS OAM feature only after the MPLS function is enabled. The MPLS function is controlled by a license. By default, MPLS is disabled on a new device. To use the MPLS function, apply for and purchase the license from the equipment supplier.

Feature Limitations

  • The SA, FC, SC series cards, and EH1D2X48SEC0 card do not support MPLS OAM.
  • In V200R006 and earlier versions, the X1E series cards do not support MPLS OAM. In V200R007 and later versions, the X1E series cards support MPLS OAM.

  • The XGE interface connected to ACU2, ET1D2IPS0S00, ET1D2FW00S00, ET1D2FW00S01, or ET1D2FW00S02 card does not support MPLS OAM.

  • When the device has ES0D00FSUA00 subcards installed on the MPUs or has EH1D2SRUDC00/EH1D2SRUDC01 MPUs installed, MPLS OAM cannot detect faults of a tunnel in the penultimate hop popping scenario.

  • MPLS OAM cannot be enabled on a switch in the following situations:
    • The MPU of the switch has an ES0D00FSUA00 subcard installed or the MPU is EH1D2SRUDC00/EH1D2SRUDC01.
    • The number of port mirroring entries configured on an LPU reaches the limit.
