(Optional) Enabling the Mesh-Group Function

(Optional) Enabling the Mesh-Group Function

Context

To reduce the load on concurrent links between two switches, enable the mesh-group function.

A neighboring router ID uniquely identifies a mesh group. A mesh group contains several concurrent links, and flooding is implemented after the group is created. To add interfaces to the same mesh group, the following conditions must be met:

  • Belong to the same area and OSPF process.
  • Interface status is higher than Exchange.
  • Connected to the same neighboring switch.

Perform the following steps on the switch running OSPF.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run ospf [ process-id ]

The OSPF process view is displayed.

  3. Run mesh-group enable

    The mesh-group function is enabled.

By default, the mesh-group function is disabled.
