Optimizing an OSPFv3 Network
Applicable Environment
Adjust the OSPFv3 timer to change the convergence speed of an OSPFv3 network and the network overload caused by protocol packets. On low-speed links, take into account the delay in transmitting LSAs on the interface. Adjust the SPF calculation interval to mitigate resource consumption caused by frequent network changes.
Specify the DR priority of an interface to affect DR and BDR election in a broadcast network.
Pre-configuration Tasks
Before optimizing an OSPFv3 network, configure basic OSPFv3 functions.
- Configuring an SPF Timer
- Setting an Interval at Which LSAs Are Received
- Configuring an Intelligent Timer for Generating LSAs
- Suppressing an Interface from Sending and Receiving OSPFv3
Packets
- Configuring a DR Priority for an Interface
- Configuring Stub Routers
- Ignoring MTU Check on DD Packets
- Verifying the OSPFv3 Network Optimization Configuration
