Configuring the Reflective ACL Function

Configuring the Reflective ACL Function

Context

A reflective ACL is configured on an interface to filter packets passing through the interface.

If a packet matching a reflective ACL rule passes through the interface within an aging time, the reflective ACL rule on the interface is retained until the next aging time expires. If no packet that matches the reflective ACL rule passes through the interface within the aging time, the reflective ACL rule is deleted on the interface.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

    The interface view is displayed.

  3. Run traffic-reflect { inbound | outbound } acl { adv-acl-name | adv-acl-number } [ timeout time-value ]

The reflective ACL function is enabled and the aging time of the reflective ACL is set.

By default, the aging time of a reflective ACL on an interface is the same as the global aging time of the reflective ACL.

If an extranet interface connects to the extranet network and intranet interfaces connect to intranet users:

    • To restrict the extranet users' rights of access to all intranet users, configure a reflective ACL on the extranet interface and specify the parameter outbound.
    • To restrict the extranet users' rights of access to a certain intranet user, configure reflective ACL on the extranet interface connecting to this intranet user and specify the parameter inbound.
