Adding a LUN
This operation enables you to add a LUN to a SmartPartition to set control goals for the applications running on the LUN.
Context
If a value-added service such as clone, remote replication, snapshot or LUN copy has been configured for a LUN, the LUN cannot be added to SmartPartition. If you have to add it, delete the configured feature first. Before the deletion, confirm whether the corresponding feature is required.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Provisioning >
Resource Performance Tuning >
SmartPartition.
- Go to the Add LUN dialog box.
- In the upper part of the left function pane, select the SmartPartition to which you want to add a LUN.
- Click More > Add LUN.
The Add LUN dialog box is displayed.
You can also right-click and choose Add LUN.
- Select the LUN you want to add.
From the Available LUNs list, select the LUN you want to add and click the right arrow to move it to the Selected LUNs list.
- Confirm the adding of the LUN.
- Click OK.
The Warning dialog box is displayed.
- Carefully read the content in the dialog box. Then select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation for confirmation.
- Click OK.
The Execution Result message box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.
- Click Close.
- Click OK.
