Adding a Host

Adding a Host

This operation enables you to add a host. A host can be added to a maximum of 64 host groups. A maximum of 64 hosts can be added into a host group.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Go to the host page.

    The operation path varies with user types:

    • System user: Click vStore, select the desired vStore, and click Details to go to the vStore view. Choose Provisioning > Host > Host Group.
    • vStore user: In the vStore view, choose Provisioning > Host > Host Group.

  3. Add a host.

    1. Select the host group that you want to add a host to.
    2. Click Add Host to add a host.

      The Add Host to Host Group dialog box is displayed.

    3. Select the host that you want to add.

      If hosts to be added into the host group belong to different clusters, data access conflict may occur and cause data loss. Before this operation, you are advised to install cluster software to manage hosts.

    4. Click to add the host to the Selected Hosts list.

  4. Confirm your operation.

    1. Click OK.

      The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

    2. Click Close.
