Viewing User Information

Viewing User Information

This operation enables you to browse information about all users. The information includes Username, Role, Level, Type, Online/Offline, Password Status, Created At, and Lock Status.

Context

  • A super administrator who logs in to DeviceManager can view the information about all users on the device.
  • An administrator or a read-only user who logs in to DeviceManager can only view their own information.
  • The user name must be unique among all users.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Go to the user management page.

    The operation path varies with user types:

    • System user: Click vStore, select the desired vStore, and click Details to go to the vStore view. Choose Permission Settings > User Management.
    • vStore user: In the vStore view, choose Permission Settings > User Management.

  3. In the middle function pane, browse user information.

    Table 4-3 describes related parameters.

    Name of a user.

    Role of a user. The vStore roles preset by the storage system are as follows:

    • vStore administrator: All permissions of managing vStores.
    • vStore data protection administrator: Permission of data protection management, including local data protection, remote data protection, and HyperMetro data protection for vStores.
    • vStore protocol administrator: Permission of managing vStore protocols, including authenticated users and shares of vStores.

    Level

    Level of a user. The possible value can be:

    • Super Administrator: At this level, users have full system administration permissions on storage devices.
    • Administrator: Users at this level have partial system administration permissions. Specifically, they cannot manage users, upgrade storage devices, modify system time, or import and activate license files.
    • Read-only user: Users at this level only have access permission to storage devices.

    Type

    Type of a user. The possible value can be Local user, AD Domain User, or AD Domain User group.

    User status. The value can be Online or Offline.

    Password Status

    Password status of the user.

    Indicates the time when a user is created.
