Batch Creating Hosts
This operation enables you to batch create virtual hosts for storage devices.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Go to the host page.
The operation path varies with user types:
- System user: Click
vStore, select the desired vStore, and click Details to go to the vStore view. Choose .
- vStore user: In the vStore view, choose .
- System user: Click
- Choose Create > Batch Create.
The Batch Create Host dialog box is displayed.
- Set basic information about the host.
Table 3-14 describes related parameters.

- The name must be unique.
- The name can contain only letters, digits, periods (.), underscores (_), and hyphens (-).
- The name contains 1 to 31 characters.

Operating system of the host
NOTE:The selected operating system must be the same type of host operating system that the storage system is connected to.
[Value range]
Possible values are Linux, Windows, Windows Server 2012, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, XenServer, Mac OS, VMware ESX, Oracle VM, and OpenVMS.
NOTE:- If the host runs the Windows operating system and you need to use the space reclaiming function of thin LUNs, you can only select Windows Server 2012.
- If the application type is FusionCompute, you are advised to select Linux as the operating system.

NOTE:- A maximum of 500 hosts can be created at a time.
- When creating multiple hosts, the system automatically appends a number to host names for distinction. You can manually append numbers to host names.
- Click OK.
The Danger dialog box is displayed.
- Click the check box next to the statement I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation.
- Click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.
- Click Close. You have finished batch creating hosts.
