Viewing Information About Role

This operation allows you to view information about roles. The information includes names, sources, and owning groups.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Permission Settings > Role Management.
  3. In the function pane on the right, view information about roles, as shown in Table 4-1.

    Role Name

    Name of a role.



    Role Source

    The source can be Built-In Role or Self-Defined Role.

    • Built-In Role: The system provides the built-in roles by default. The permissions of built-in roles cannot be modified.
    • Self-Defined Role: Such roles are created by users. Users can specify names and permissions for roles based on site requirements.


    Built-In Role

    Owning group

    The value can be System Group or vStore Group.

    • If a role belongs to System Group, its permissions are valid in the system view.
    • If a role belongs to vStore Group, its permissions are valid in the vStore view.


    System Group
