Planning Process

Before using the storage system, you are advised to plan services based on the recommended logical sequence.

Figure 2-1 shows the recommended planning process, which is based on user behaviors in different stages.

vStore configuration and management can be classified into the following scenarios based on roles (system users and vStore users):

  • Scenario 1: System users complete all configuration tasks in the system view and vStore view. In this scenario, system users need to complete all planning tasks.
  • Scenario 2: System users only configure global resources and create vStores and vStore users. In this scenario, system users need to plan capacity, disk domains, and storage pools.
  • Scenario 3: After system users configure global resources and create vStores and vStore users, vStore users need to log in to the vStore view to configure the vStores. In this scenario, vStore users need to plan LUNs and service data.
