Disabling SmartDedupe
Running SmartDedupe slightly affects data performance. If an application requires high data performance, disable SmartDedupe.
Context
Disabling this function will not release the previously saved space.
Procedure
- Go to the LUN Properties dialog box.
- Non-vStore scenario
- On the right navigation bar, click
Provisioning.
- In the Block Storage Service area, click
LUN.
- In the left function pane, click the LUN tab.
- In the function pane, select a LUN with SmartDedupe and SmartCompression enabled.
- Click Properties.
The Properties of LUN dialog box is displayed.
- On the right navigation bar, click
- vStore scenario
- System user:
- Click
vStore. On the displayed page, click Details.
- In the left navigation tree, choose Provisioning > LUN.
- Click the LUN tab.
- Select the LUN with SmartDedupe and SmartCompression enabled and click Properties.
The Properties of LUN dialog box is displayed.
- Click
- vStore user:
- Choose Provisioning > LUN.
- Click the LUN tab.
- Select the LUN with SmartDedupe and SmartCompression enabled and click Properties.
The Properties of LUN dialog box is displayed.
- System user:
- Non-vStore scenario
- Disable SmartDedupe.
- Click the More tab and select SmartDedupe&SmartCompression.
- Deselect Enable deduplication.
- Confirm that SmartDedupe is disabled.
- Click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed.
- Click Close.
- Click OK.
