Checking the Licenses
SmartDedupe and SmartCompression are value-added features and require licenses. Before using the two features, check whether the licenses are valid.
Context
On DeviceManager, SmartDedupe and SmartCompression are displayed as SmartDedupe (for LUNs&FS) and SmartCompression (for LUNs&FS) in Feature.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Settings >
License Management.
- Check the active licenses.
- For versions earlier than V500R007C20, perform the following steps to check the active licenses:
- In the navigation tree on the left, choose Active License.
- In the middle information pane, verify the information about active licenses.
- For V500R007C20 and later versions, you can view all activated licenses in the function pane at the lower part of the License Management page.
- For versions earlier than V500R007C20, perform the following steps to check the active licenses:
Follow-up Procedure
- If there is no license for SmartDedupe or SmartCompression, you must apply for and import the license. For details about how to apply for and import a license, see the installation guide of the corresponding product model.
- If an alarm is generated in the storage system, indicating that the license has expired, obtain and import a new one.
