Modifying the Expected Capacity of a SmartCache Partition

This operation enables you to change the expected capacity of a SmartCache partition to meet service requirements.


At least one SmartCache partition exists in the storage system.


The system does not support allow users to modify the expected capacity of the default SmartCache partition.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Provisioning > Resource Performance Tuning > SmartCache > SmartCache Partition.
  3. Go to the Modify Expect Capacity dialog box.

    1. In the upper part of the left function pane, select the SmartCache partition whose expected capacity you want to change.
    2. Choose More > Modify Expect Capacity.

      The Modify Expect Capacity dialog box is displayed.


      Alternatively, you can right-click the SmartCache partition and choose Modify Expect Capacity.

    3. Set an expected capacity for the SmartCache partition.

      The expected capacity of the SmartCache partition cannot be larger than the actual capacity of the SmartCache pool.

  4. Confirm that you want to change the expected capacity.

    1. Click OK.

      The Success dialog box is displayed indicating that the operation succeeded.

    2. Click OK.
