Viewing SmartCache Partition Information

Viewing SmartCache Partition Information

This operation enables you to view information about a SmartCache partition.

Context

The license for SmartCache has been imported.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Provisioning > Resource Performance Tuning > SmartCache > SmartCache Partition.
  3. View SmartCache partition information. Table 3-2 describes related parameters.

    Table 3-2 SmartCache partition parameters

    Parameter

    Description

    Value

    Name

    Name of the SmartCache partition.

The name must meet the following requirements so that the SmartCache partition is available to compatible applications:

    [Value range]

    • The name must be unique.
    • The name can contain only letters, digits, underscores (_), periods (.), and hyphens (-).
    • The name contains 1 to 31 characters.

    [Example]

    SmartCachePartition001

    ID

    ID of the SmartCache partition.

    [Example]

    1

    Owning Engine

    Engine of the SmartCache partition.

    [Example]

    StorageEngine000

    Expected Capacity

The capacity of the SmartCache partition you expect to use.

    NOTE:

The Expected Capacity, Used Capacity, and Free Capacity of a partition must comply with the following principle:

(Used capacity of partition A + Free capacity of partition A)/Total capacity of SSDs in SmartCache pools on the engine to which partition A belongs ≈ Expected capacity of partition A/Sum of the maximum capacity of SmartCache pools on the engine to which partition A belongs

    [Example]

    300 MB

    Used Capacity

Used capacity of the SmartCache partition.

    [Example]

    100 MB

    Free Capacity

Free capacity of the SmartCache partition.

    [Example]

    200 MB

    SSD Real-Time Hit Ratio (%)

Every 10 seconds, the ratio of read I/O hits of data in the SmartCache partition to the total read I/O requests the SmartCache partition receives. For example, the SmartCache partition receives 10 read I/O requests, 5 of them successfully processed in the partition, therefore the SSD real-time hit ratio is 50%.

    [Example]

    50%
