Checking the SmartCache License

Checking the SmartCache License

A license grants permission to use the SmartCache feature. Before you configure SmartCache, ensure that it has been licensed.

A license file that contains the SmartCache license information has been imported into the storage system.

On the DeviceManager interface, SmartCache is displayed in Feature of SmartCache.

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > License Management.
  3. Check the active license files.

    • For V500R007C10 and earlier versions, perform the following steps to check the activated license file:
      1. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Active License.
      2. In the middle of the information pane, verify the information about active license files.
    • For V500R007C20 and later versions, you can view all activated license files in the function pane on the License Management page.

Follow-up Procedure

  • If no license for SmartCache is available, apply for and import a license file as instructed in the installation guide of the corresponding product model.
  • If the storage system generates an alarm indicating that the license has expired, obtain and import another license file.
