Synchronizing a Consistency Group

By performing this operation, you can enable all remote replication pairs in a consistency group to initiate data synchronization simultaneously so that data is synchronized from all primary LUNs to all secondary LUNs at the same point in time, ensuring data validity.


  • This operation can be performed only on the primary device of a consistency group.
  • Secondary resource protection has been enabled.
  • Based on Running Status of a consistency group, determine whether data synchronization can be performed for the consistency group, as shown in Table 4-22.

During synchronization of a synchronous remote replication consistency group, if the storage system has a controller reset, synchronization of some remote replication pairs in the consistency group may fail to start. As a result, the consistency groups cannot guarantee data consistency between the primary and secondary LUNs.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Go to the remote replication consistency group page.

    The operation path varies with user types:

    • System user: Click vStore, select the desired vStore, and click Details to go to the vStore view. Choose Data Protection > Remote Replication > Remote Replication Consistency Group.
    • vStore user: In the vStore view, choose Data Protection > Remote Replication > Remote Replication Consistency Group.

  3. Right-click the desired consistency group and choose Synchronize.

    The security alert dialog box is displayed.

  4. Confirm the synchronization operation.

    1. Carefully read the contents of the dialog box. Select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation. Click OK to confirm the information.
    2. Click OK.

      The Success dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

    3. Click OK.
