Viewing Remote Device Information

Viewing Remote Device Information

By performing this operation, you can view the information about remote storage devices.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Data Protection > Remote Device.
  3. View basic information about existing remote storage devices.

    Table 3-34 lists related parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Name of a remote device.

    Device Type

    Type of a remote device.

    ID

    ID of a remote device.

    Health Status

    Indicates whether a remote device is normal.

    Running Status

    Indicates whether a remote device is working properly.

    WWN

    World Wide Name (WWN) of a remote device.

    SN

    Serial number of a remote device.

    Device Manufacturer

    Manufacturer of a remote device.

    Number of FC Links

    Number of Fibre Channel links between a local storage device and a remote device.

    Number of iSCSI Links

    Number of iSCSI links between a local storage device and a remote device.

  4. Select remote storage devices that you want to view and view the information about Fibre Channel links and iSCSI links of the remote storage devices. Table 3-35 and Table 3-36 list related parameters of Fibre Channel links and iSCSI links.

    Link ID

    ID of a remote link.

    Health Status

    Health status of a remote link.

    Running Status

    Operating status of a remote link.

    Owning Device

    Remote storage device which a remote link belongs to.

    Local Controller

    Owning controller of the local storage device.

    Local Port

    Fibre Channel port of the local storage device.

    Remote Controller

    Owning controller of the remote storage device.

    Remote Port

    Fibre Channel port of the remote storage device.

    Bandwidth Limit

    Whether or not to limit the data transfer rate of a link.

    Bandwidth Size

    Maximum data transfer rate of a link.

    Bandwidth Usage (%)

    Usage of the link bandwidth.

    Local Port WWPN

    Unique identifier of the local Fibre Channel port.

    Remote Port WWPN

    Unique identifier of the remote Fibre Channel port.

    Link ID

    ID of a remote link.

    Health Status

    Health status of a remote link.

    Running Status

    Operating status of a remote link.

    Local Controller

    Owning controller of the local storage device.

    Local Port

    Ethernet port of the local storage device.

    Local IQN

    iSCSI qualified name of the local storage device. It is used to identify the iSCSI initiator name.

    Remote Controller

    Owning controller of the remote storage device.

    Remote Port

    Front-end port of the remote storage device.

    Remote IP Address

    IP address of the Ethernet port on the remote storage device.

    Remote IQN

    iSCSI qualified name of the remote storage device. It is used to identify the iSCSI initiator name.

    Bandwidth Limit

    Whether or not to limit the data transfer rate of a link.

    Bandwidth Size

    Maximum data transfer rate of a link.

    Bandwidth Usage (%)

    Usage of the link bandwidth.

    Immediate Data

    The immediate data function can speed up data transfer in the scenario where iSCSI replication links transfer service data between storage arrays. You are advised to enable this function.
