Removing a Remote Replication Pair

Removing a Remote Replication Pair

By performing this operation, you can remove a remote replication pair from a consistency group. Data of the secondary resource in the removed remote replication pair will not be consistent with data of secondary resources in other remote replication pairs in the consistency group at the synchronization point in time.

Prerequisites

  • The consistency group has been split.
  • A remote replication pair is removable only when the Role of the consistency group is Primary.

Precautions

  • When a remote replication pair cannot be removed due to a link failure, delete the consistency group to which the remote replication pair belongs.
  • Once a remote replication pair is removed from the consistency group, the remote replication pair will work according to its own replication properties.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Data Protection > Remote Replication > Remote Replication Consistency Group.
  3. Right-click a consistency group from which you want to remove a remote replication pair and choose Remove Remote Replication Pair

The Remove Remote Replication Pair dialog box is displayed.

  4. From the Available Remote Replication Pairs list, select one or multiple remote replication pairs and click to remove.
  5. Click OK.

The security alert dialog box is displayed.

  6. Carefully read the contents of the dialog box. Select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation. Click OK.

The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

  7. Click Close.
