Impact and Restrictions

File system snapshot^a

This feature is a backup technology designed for file systems. This technology helps system administrators reduce the file system backup window to zero, meeting enterprises' requirements on business continuity and data reliability.

• If the WORM feature has been configured for a file system, you can create read-only snapshots for the file system. The snapshot is also protected by WORM.
• If snapshots are created for a file system after the WORM feature is configured for the file system, you cannot roll back the snapshots of the file system.

• If the WORM feature has been configured for a file system, you can create read-only snapshots for the file system. The snapshot is also protected by WORM.
• If snapshots are created for a file system after the WORM feature is configured for the file system, you can roll back the snapshots of the file system.

Remote replication^b

Remote replication is the core technology used for remote data synchronization and disaster recovery.

• The target end of remote replication must be a new file system.
• The WORM properties of the file system at the remote replication source end will be synchronized to the remote replication target end.

• The WORM type of the primary file system is the same as that of the secondary file system.
• The secondary file system in the remote replication pair must be a new file system.
• The WORM properties of the primary file system in the remote replication pair will be synchronized to the secondary primary system.
• In the remote replication of enterprise WORM file system, write protection can be disabled for the secondary file system and then the primary/secondary switchover is supported.

NAS HyperMetro

HyperMetro provides you with disaster recovery functions and enables you to synchronize and replicate data between storage arrays, monitor service operating status, and perform a failover. Users can switch online services across data centers and implement service load sharing.

Not supported

• The WORM type of the primary file system is the same as that of the secondary file system.
• The secondary file system of the HyperMetro pair must be a new file system.
• The WORM properties of the primary file system in the HyperMetro pair will be synchronized to the secondary primary system.
• HyperMetro of enterprise WORM file system supports the primary/secondary switchover.
