Stopping a LUN Clone Pair
This operation enables you to suspend the synchronization after it starts.
Precautions
For non-immediately available clone, you are not allowed to stop synchronization of clone pairs.
- Stopping a clone pair interrupts data synchronization from the primary LUN to the secondary LUN. After the synchronization is restarted, the clone pair uses the snapshot data of the primary LUN at the synchronization point in time to synchronize data.
- If a clone pair is stopped during synchronization, data on the secondary LUN is incomplete and services on the secondary LUN are interrupted.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Data Protection >
Clone.
- Select the desired clone and choose More > Stop on the menu bar.
The Stop xxx dialog box is displayed. (xxx indicates the name of the selected clone.)
You can also right-click the desired clone, and choose Stop.
- Select the desired secondary LUN and click OK.
The security alert dialog box is displayed.
- Confirm the operation of stopping the secondary LUN.
- Read the contents of the security alert dialog box carefully. Then click the check box next to the statement I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation to confirm the information.
- Click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.
- Click Close.
The clone management page is displayed.
