Removing a LUN Clone Pair

Removing a LUN Clone Pair

This operation enables you to remove secondary LUNs if you want to delete a clone or use secondary LUNs for other purposes. After a secondary LUN is removed from a clone, the data on the primary LUN is no longer synchronized to that secondary LUN.

Prerequisites

Based on the Running Status and Data Status of a clone pair, determine whether the secondary LUN can be removed from the clone. Table 3-9 lists the requirements for removing a secondary LUN.

The Remove Pair from Clone xxx dialog box is displayed. (xxx indicates the name of the clone).

  4. Remove a clone pair.

    1. In the Added Secondary LUNs area, select the secondary LUN you want to remove.
    2. Click .

The secondary LUN is moved to the Secondary LUNs to Be Removed area.

    3. Click OK.

The security alert dialog box is displayed.

  5. Confirm the removal of the secondary LUN.

    1. Confirm information in the Warning dialog box carefully and select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation.
