Modifying the Properties of a LUN Clone

This operation enables you to modify the name and description of a LUN clone.


Only administrators and super administrators are allowed to modify the properties of a LUN clone.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Click vStore, select the desired vStore, and click Details to go to the vStore view. Choose Data Protection > Clone > LUN.

    The page for operating clone LUNs in the vStore is displayed.

  3. Modify the properties of a clone.

    1. Choose the clone whose properties you want to modify.
    2. Click Properties.

      The Properties of Clone:xxx dialog box is displayed. (xxx indicates the name of the clone).

    3. Modify the name and description of the clone.

      Table 3-5 describes the parameters of a clone.

      Name a clone in accordance with the associated value range so that the LUN is available to host applications.

      • The name must be unique.
      • The name can contain only letters, digits, periods (.), underscores (_), and hyphens (-).
      • The name contains 1 to 31 characters.

  4. Confirm the modification of the clone.

    1. Click OK.

      The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

    2. Click Close.

      The clone management page is displayed.
