Installing a Key Management Server

This section describes how to install a key management server.

Prerequisites

  • To avoid personal injury or damage to the hardware, always arrange at least two persons to lift and install a key management server.
  • The two key management servers are ready to install.

Procedure

  1. Determine the installation location.

    A key management server is a 2 U device. In the rack, determine proper installation locations for the two key management servers.

  2. Wear ESD gloves and ESD wrist straps.
  3. Unpack the key management server.
  4. Install the side brackets into the rack, as shown in Figure 3-6.

  5. Install external brackets into the key management server, as shown in Figure 3-7.

  6. Slide the key management server into the rack, and secure it using provided nuts and bolts, as shown in Figure 3-8.

  7. Confirm that both sides of the key management server are fastened.
  8. Repeat 3 to 7 to install the other key management server.
