Viewing Storage Pool Information

Viewing Storage Pool Information

This operation enables you to view the information about all the storage pools on a storage system.

Prerequisites

At least one storage pool has been created.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Provisioning > Storage Pool.
  3. View storage pool information.

Table 7-6 describes storage pool parameters.

GUIs may vary with product versions and models. The actual GUIs prevail.

    Table 7-6 Storage pool parameters

    Parameter

    Description

    Setting

    Name

    Name of a storage pool.

    [Example]

    storagepool1

    ID

    ID of a storage pool.

    [Example]

    1

    Health Status

Health status of a storage pool.

    [Example]

    Normal

    Running Status

Running status of a storage pool.

    [Example]

    Online

    Usage

Usage of a storage pool. The usages include:

    • Block Storage Service: for creating LUNs.
    • File Storage Service: for creating file systems.

    [Example]

    Block Storage Service

    Owning Disk Domain

Name of the disk domain to which the storage pool belongs.

    [Example]

    DiskDomain001

    Storage Medium

Disk types in a storage pool.

    [Example]

    SSD

    Total Capacity

Total capacity of a storage pool.

    [Example]

    2.000 TB

    Used Capacity

Sum of the allocated capacity and data protection capacity in the storage pool, that is, Used Capacity = Allocated Capacity + Data Protection Capacity. The percentage of Used Capacity to Total Capacity is also displayed.

    [Example]

    30.293 GB

    70.23%

    Allocated Capacity

Capacity actually allocated by a storage pool to LUNs or file systems

    [Example]

    100.000 MB

    Free Capacity

Free capacity of a storage pool.

    [Example]

    500 GB

    Data Protection Capacity

Capacity allocated by a storage pool for data protection.

    NOTE:

For example, snapshots are created for LUNs or file systems within a storage pool. The storage space these snapshots occupy is the capacity allocated for data protection.

    [Example]

    30.000 GB

    Migration Triggering Mode

Mode of data migration among storage tiers in a storage pool.

    NOTE:

This parameter is only applicable to storage pools for Block Storage Service.

    [Example]

    Manual

    Subscribed Capacity

Sum of the preset capacities of all the LUNs and capacities of all the LUNs' activated snapshots in the storage pool.

    [Example]

    46.000 GB (0.15%)

    Capacity Saved by SmartDedupe

Storage space saved after data written to LUNs is deduplicated.

    NOTE:
    • This parameter applies to V500R007C30 and later versions.

    [Example]

    40.959 GB (50%)

    Capacity Saved by SmartCompression

Storage space saved after data written to LUNs is compressed.

    NOTE:
    • This parameter applies to V500R007C30 and later versions.

    [Example]

    40.959 GB (50%)

Capacity Saved by SmartDedupe and SmartCompression

Total storage space saved after data written to LUNs is deduplicated and compressed.

    NOTE:
    • This parameter applies to V500R007C30 and later versions.

    [Example]

    81.919 GB (50%)

    Automatic snapshot deactivation

Whether the system is allowed to automatically deactivate snapshots that are not mapped to any host when the storage pool is used up.

    NOTE:
    • This parameter applies to V500R007C20 and later versions.
    • This parameter is only applicable to storage pools whose Usage is Block Storage Service.

    [Example]

    No
