Viewing General Information About a Storage Pool

This operation enables you to view the general properties of a storage pool.


At least one storage pool has been created.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Provisioning > Storage Pool.
  3. Select the storage pool whose information you want to view and click Properties.

    The Properties of Storage Pool dialog box is displayed.

  4. View the general properties of the storage pool.

    Table 6-6 describes the general parameters of a storage pool.

    Name of a storage pool.




    Description of a storage pool.




    ID of a storage pool.



    Disk Domain

    Name of the disk domain to which a storage pool belongs.



    Storage Medium

    Storage tier information about a storage pool, such as the disk type, RAID level, and strip depth.



    Health Status

    Health status of a storage pool.



    Running Status

    Running status of a storage pool.



    Capacity Saved by SmartDedupe

    Storage space saved after data written to LUNs is deduplicated.

    Automatic snapshot deactivation

    If Automatic snapshot deactivation is selected, the system automatically deactivates snapshots that are not mapped to any host when the storage pool is used up.

    • Some product models do not support HyperSnap. To check whether your product model supports HyperSnap, see its product description.
    • This parameter applies to V500R007C20 and later versions.

    You can modify Name, Description, and Automatic snapshot deactivation.
