Naming an iSCSI Device and an iSCSI Initiator

Naming an iSCSI Device and an iSCSI Initiator

An iSCSI device name or iSCSI initiator name contains two parts: the default part and the user-defined part. Only the user-defined part can be modified. An iSCSI target name is dynamically generated based on the iSCSI device name and identifier of a specific port. For details about how an iSCSI target name is generated, contact maintenance personnel for your site.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Storage Settings > Block Storage Service > Name Settings.
  3. In iSCSI Device Name, enter the user-defined part of the iSCSI device name.

The name can be left blank or contain up to 31 characters.

  4. In iSCSI Initiator Name, enter the user-defined part of the iSCSI initiator name.

The name can be left blank or contain up to 31 characters.

  5. Click Save.

The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

  6. Click Close.
