Connecting Controller Enclosures to Application Servers

Connecting Controller Enclosures to Application Servers

Controller enclosures are connected to application servers through multiple types of front-end ports. The interface modules on the controller enclosures are redundant. It is recommended that redundant cable connections to the application servers be applied.

The rate of the ports on the storage device is adaptive. To ensure an unimpeded link, the rates of the ports on the storage device and the application server (or the switch) must be consistent. If the rates are inconsistent, do the following:

  • To set the rates of the ports on the storage device, see the sections of Setting Ethernet Port Information and Setting Fibre Channel Port Information in OceanStor V5 Series V500R007 Basic Storage Service Guide for Block.
  • To set the rates of the ports on the application server (or the switch), refer to the documents for the application server (or the switch).
