Unpacking and Checking the Devices

Unpacking and Checking the Devices

After a project is started, project supervisors and customer representatives unpack goods together and check whether they are intact and their quantities are correct.

Prerequisites

  • The goods have been delivered to the site.
  • Both project supervisors and customer representatives are present at the site.

Context

  1. The bag containing the Packing List is attached to the surface of the carton.
  2. Check whether the goods are consistent with those stated in the Packing List.
    • If short shipment of goods is stated in the Packing List, contact the local Huawei office for subsequent handling. The project supervisors and customer representatives sign the Packing List.
    • If short, wrong, or excessive shipment of goods occurs or goods are damaged, the project supervisors and the customer representatives sign the Memo for Unpacking and Checking Goods and Packing List. Meanwhile, the project supervisors fill in the Goods Feedback Sheet, submit it to the local Huawei office within three days, and keep the problematic goods (including internal and external packages) for later investigation.
    • If goods are confirmed intact, the project supervisors and customer representatives sign the Packing List to confirm that no defective goods exist. Then the customers take over the goods.

Procedure

  1. Check goods before unpacking them.

    NOTE:

Before unpacking goods, take out the Packing List from the bag and check the goods according to the list.

After a project is started, the project supervisors and the customer representatives should check the items listed in Table 4-19 before unpacking goods.

Table 4-19 Checklist before unpacking goods

    No.

    Check Item

    1

Check whether the exterior of a carton is intact and the carton is not soaked.

    2

Check whether the delivery destination is the actual installation site.

    3

Check whether the number of goods matches with that stated in the Packing List attached to the carton.

  2. Based on the check result, handle the goods as follows:

    • If the number of goods is consistent with the Packing List and the appearance of the carton is intact, unpack and check the goods.
    • If the number of goods is inconsistent with the Packing List or the carton is seriously damaged or soaked, stop unpacking, find out the cause, and report the situation to the local office.

  3. Unpack the goods.

Follow the standard unpacking procedure printed on the packing case to avoid device damage.

    • During device transportation, avoid bumping into doors, walls, or shelves.
    • During device transportation, do not touch the uncoated metal surfaces of devices, components, or parts with sweaty or dirty gloves.
    • Clear the foam and cushion boards from the installation site to protect signal cables and circuit boards.
    • Wear ESD gloves when removing ESD bags and touching devices.
    • If a device is soaked or rusted, immediately stop unpacking it, find out the cause, and report the situation to the local office.

For details about unpacking a device, see the unpacking diagram attached to the packing case.

  4. Check each packing case according to the Packing List and ensure that components are complete.
  5. Check each component's package for any obvious damage.
  6. Unpack components and check each component for any damage.

Table 4-20, Table 4-21, and Table 4-22 list the check items.

    NOTE:
    • Table 4-20, Table 4-21, and Table 4-22 do not list all materials. For details about all materials, refer to the Packing List.
    • If any component is lost or damaged, notify the local office immediately.
    • If key management servers (Thales keyAuthority) are selected, check whether you can find Smart Card in the key management server packages. If you find it, keep it properly. Smart Card is used to back up the system keys of key management servers.
