(Optional) Removing Filler Panels

If the cabinet has filler panels, remove them before installing devices. If the cabinet does not have filler panels, skip this procedure.

The required installation tools include:

  • M3 to M6 Phillips screwdriver
  • (Optional) M3 to M6 Flat-head screwdriver (alternative a flat-head screwdriver)
  • Floating nut mounting bar

  1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to unfasten the M6 screws.
  2. Remove the filler panels from the cabinet.
  3. Remove the floating nuts.

If a floating nut mounting bar is unavailable, a flat-head screwdriver may be used instead. When using a flat-head screwdriver to remove floating nuts, do not apply excessive force and pay attention not to injure hands or damage storage devices.

    1. Pull one foot of the floating nut downward by using a floating nut mounting bar, then take the floating nut out of the square hole, as shown in Figure 5-50.
