OceanStor 5000, 5000F, 6000, and 6000F V5 Series V500R007

This document is applicable to OceanStor 5110 V5, 5110F V5, 5300 V5, 5300F V5, 5500 V5, 5500F V5, 5600 V5, 5600F V5, 5800 V5, 5800F V5, 6800 V5, and 6800F V5 storage systems. It describes hardware installation of those storage systems for helping you easily and quickly finish the installation.

Installing a Disk Module

After the high-density disk enclosure is installed into a cabinet, install the disk module.


Ensure that the following condition is met before installing function modules:

Ensure that the following tools and materials are ready:

  • ESD wrist strap
  • ESD clothes
  • ESD gloves
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • M6 screw
  • Disk module
  • (Optional) Caution labels for the coffer disks (Required only when the caution labels have not been attached to the coffer disks.)


  1. Loosen the two screws on the panel and pull out the system enclosure, as shown in Figure 5-94.

  2. Open the system enclosure. Insert disks to coffer disk slots A0, A1, A2, and A3. Then insert disks from left to right (E to A) and from inside to outside (0 to 14). After disk modules are inserted into the vacant slots according to the arrow direction, buckle up the handle, as shown in Figure 5-96.

    Disk slots of high-density disk enclosures are numbered from 0 to 14 from left to right and from E to A from inward to outward, as shown in Figure 5-95.

  3. (Optional) Attach the caution labels to the coffer disks. The caution labels of coffer disks of a high-density disk enclosure are attached on slots A0, A1, A2 and A3.


    If the caution labels have been attached to the coffer disks, skip this step.

Follow-up Procedure

After the installation is complete, install filler panels to the vacant slots to ensure proper heat dissipation. For details about installation methods, see this section.
