This document is applicable to OceanStor 5110 V5, 5110F V5, 5300 V5, 5300F V5, 5500 V5, 5500F V5, 5600 V5, 5600F V5, 5800 V5, 5800F V5, 6800 V5, and 6800F V5 storage systems. It describes hardware installation of those storage systems for helping you easily and quickly finish the installation.

Installing a Data Switch (Applicable to Scenarios Where Two or More Controller Enclosures Are Configured)

This section describes how to install CE6850-48S4Q-EI switches when a storage system is configured with two or more controller enclosures and uses switches for networking. The procedure for installing a CE6850-48S4Q-EI switch includes installing front mounting ears, rear mounting ears, and slide rails for rear mounting ears, pushing the switch into the cabinet, and fixing the switch.

Prerequisites

The following installation tools and materials are required:

  • Phillips screwdriver (M3 to M6)
  • M4 screws
  • M6 screws
  • Floating nut
  • Front mounting ears (two)
  • Rear mounting ears (one pair)
  • Slide rails for rear mounting ears (one pair)
  • ESD wrist strap
  • ESD bag
  • ESD table

Procedure

  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap.
  2. Take the replacement data switch out of its ESD bag and place it on the ESD table.
  3. Install grounding wires and mounting ears on the replacement data switch, as shown in Figure 5-70.

    1. Use the Phillips screwdriver to install the ground cable on the side panel of the data switch.
    2. Use the Phillips screwdriver to install mounting ears on the left and right panels of the data switch.

  4. Install the floating nut to the mounting bar of the cabinet.

    1. Install four floating nuts on the front mounting bar, two on each side.
    2. Install four floating nuts on the rear mounting bar, two on each side.

  5. Install the data switch to the cabinet, as shown in Figure 5-71.

    1. Push the data switch into the cabinet.
    2. Use M6 screws to fix the data switch on the cabinet.
    3. Verify that the data switch is horizontally installed and firmly secured.
