OceanStor 5000, 5000F, 6000, and 6000F V5 Series V500R007

This document is applicable to OceanStor 5110 V5, 5110F V5, 5300 V5, 5300F V5, 5500 V5, 5500F V5, 5600 V5, 5600F V5, 5800 V5, 5800F V5, 6800 V5, and 6800F V5 storage systems. It describes hardware installation of those storage systems for helping you easily and quickly finish the installation.

Port Configuration

Before installing devices, plan the reserved ports of different types to meet service requirements.

  • If file services are required, reserve a 10GE/GE service port on the interface module of the controller enclosure and use it as the primary port for the logical port of the storage system.
  • To improve the reliability of file system access paths, reserve GE/10GE ports as backup. For details about the port planning and deployment, see Floating IP Address Deployment Guide.
  • If logical ports are created based on Ethernet network ports, bond ports, or VLAN ports, these ports can only be used for one storage service, block storage service, or file system storage service.

After planning ports, plan the port mappings between the application server and switch and between the storage system and switch. Table 2-10 shows the port mappings between the application server and switch, and Table 2-11 shows the port mappings between the storage system and switch.
