This document is applicable to OceanStor 5110 V5, 5110F V5, 5300 V5, 5300F V5, 5500 V5, 5500F V5, 5600 V5, 5600F V5, 5800 V5, 5800F V5, 6800 V5, and 6800F V5 storage systems. It describes hardware installation of those storage systems for helping you easily and quickly finish the installation.

(Optional) Installing an ODF

When a controller enclosure uses an 8 Gbit/s Fibre Channel interface module (eight ports) to connect to an application server, you are advised to use an ODF if the cable length is longer than 15 m (15 cabinets in between).


Slide the ODF into the cabinet. Before installing the ODF, ensure that the installation location is properly planned and floating nuts have been installed.

The required installation tools and materials are as follows:

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • ODF


  1. Using M6 screws to secure it to the cabinet, as shown in Figure 5-79.

  2. Check that the ODF is horizontally installed and tightly screwed in.
