cache show prefetch


The cache show prefetch command is used to view the prefetch information in a Cache.


cache show prefetch info volumeId

cache show prefetch intelfactor

cache show prefetch maxlength





info Type of prefetch information.

The value can be wastepages, status, or list.

  • wastepages: volume Cache and stripe Cache.
  • status: volume Cache.
  • list: stripe Cache.
volumeId Volume ID.

The value ranges from 0 to 2^64 - 1.

intelfactor Parameter for intelligent prefetch of Cache.


maxlength The maximum length of prefetch.

The value can be from 4096 to 16384.

Usage Guidelines



View the number of waste prefetch pages in the cache object of volume 0.

admin:/diagnose>cache show prefetch wastepages 0
Obj [0] prefetch waste pages detail: 
  Total prefetch pages(volume layer)       : 1 = 0(MB)
  Total prefetch waste pages(volume layer) : 0 = 0(MB)

Total prefetch pages(volume layer)

Number of prefetched pages in layer 1 Cache.

Total prefetch waste pages(volume layer)

Number of wasted prefetched pages in layer 1 Cache.

Async prefetch status

Status of asynchronous prefetch.

Async prefetch threshold

Threshold of asynchronous prefetch.

Async prefetch threshold percent:

Percentage threshold of asynchronous prefetch.


Volume ID of a Cache object.


ID of the Cache object.


LBA of a request on the prefetch linked list.


Length of data in the REQ on the prefetch linked list.


LBA of the REQ end on the prefetch linked list.


Current prefetch progress.


REQ address on the prefetch linked list.


Operation code of the prefetch.

Max length

Maximum prefetch length.

Min length

Minimum prefetch length.
