change vm_container general


The change vm_container general command is used to modify a virtual machine (VM) container.


change vm_container general container_id=? cpu_isolate_enable=? [ cpu_counts=? ]





container_id=? ID of the VM container.

To obtain the value, run the "show vm_container general" command without parameters.

cpu_isolate_enable=? Switch of the CPU isolation switch of the VM container.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": enables physical CPU allocation to VMs.
"no": disables physical CPU allocation to VMs.
cpu_counts=? Number of CPUs of the VM container.

The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 32.

Usage Guidelines

OceanStor 2800 V5 (32 GB), 5600 V5 (128 GB), and 5800 V5 (256 GB) do not support this command.


  • Change the number of reserved CPUs for a VM container.

    developer:/>change vm_container general container_id=0 cpu_isolate_enable=yes cpu_counts=1
    Command executed successfully.
  • Change the status of the CPU isolation switch for a VM container.

    developer:/>change vm_container general container_id=0 cpu_isolate_enable=no
    Command executed successfully.
